DIRECTIONS

   FIELD-TRIP LOCATION:
     Telehouse Data Center
     85 10th Avenue (between 15th and 16th Streets)
West of Chelsea Market, Manhattan, NYC

   Nearest mass transit stations are:
'A/C/E/L' to 14th Street & 8th Avenue, then walk West and North.

For buses, the M14D (crosstown) but *NOT* the M14A should be closest.
It stops on 14th before 10th, then stops on 11th right outside (an
always-locked-door) of 85 10th. Then, you have to walk around to the
10th Ave side of the building. Once you get into the building you,
have to walk down the hallway to the 11th Ave end, to get to the
elevator bank that takes you to Telehouse.

Parking Lots are located: On 9th Avenue, North-side and adjacent
to Chelsea market: 9th Avenue and 16th Street; and, South-side and
adjacent to Chelsea market on 15th Street between 9th and 10th
Avenues. We were warned that the lots can get busy in the evening,
due to the night-life in the area.

Note that free street parking may be nearly impossible in this area,
which is literally situated under the Highline. You may need to use
the Parking Lots, or venture further away from the immediate area of
   the building.

Note: There is a big "85" on the entrance to "85 10th Avenue".

PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Topic: Data Center Infrastructure Field-Trip and Tour

Introduction & Description of Talk:

Telehouse is pleased to invite UNIGROUP to Telehouse Chelsea, Telehouse's newest and premier Data Center facility located in Manhattan on 85 10th Avenue.

The Data Center facility is located behind/West-of Chelsea Market, in the old Nabisco building. This facility was the former Lehman Brothers Data Center, which Telehouse renovated up to modern Data Center standards.

Given a Security Requirement for Smaller-Groups, this event will be offered in 2 sessions:
 - Session 1of2 starts at 6:30 PM and ends at 7:30 PM.
 - Session 2of2 starts at 7:30 PM and ends at 8:30 PM.

The two sessions will accommodate the data center tours, presentations and networking for Unigroup attendees. Food and Presentations and Tours will be offered for both groups.

Basically, we are planning that while one group does the Data Center Tour, the other group will enjoy the food, and see the Datacenter Infrastructure Presentation by Telehouse.

This also means that even if everyone shows up by 6:30 PM, half the crowd may have to wait for the 7:30 PM tour, etc. But, if you are running late to Unigroup, you can certainly plan on attending the later tour.

The current plan is:
Both sessions will meet in the lobby of 85 10th Avenue. First group at 6:30 and second group at 7:30PM. Due to security and access to the facility Telehouse is offering these staggered times. The facility is located on the 7th Floor and there is a concierge in the lobby at all times.

** Note: Exactly how we all meet up at the location, and have access to the Unigroup sign-in, food and main presentation room, may still change... stay tuned!

GIVEAWAYS

Addison-Wesley Professional/Prentice Hall PTR, and O'Reilly have been kind enough to provide us with review copies of some of their books, which we will continue to raffle off as giveaways at our meetings. The publishers always ask that the persons receiving the books provide a review and/or feedback about their books.

Unigroup would like to thank both companies for the support provided by their User Group programs.

** Given the Field-Trip, giveaways are To-be-determined.

Student Yearly Membership (with current! ID): $ 25.00
         Non-Member Single Meeting: $ 20.00

MasterCard, VISA, Discover (new for 2013).

! Students: We are looking for proof that you are
currently enrolled in classes (rather than working
full-time), and as such, your Student ID should show
a CURRENT date. We have been presented Student IDs
containing NO dates whatsoever, and in the
         current environment, perpetual/non-expiring access
to university facilities just does not feel right.
If your ID contains no date, please bring
additional proof of current enrollment. Thanks.

NOTE: Simply receiving Unigroup Email Announcements does NOT indicate membership in Unigroup.

Members: Remember to bring your membership card with you to the meeting, to confirm your yearly renewal date!
