SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY

Bruce Grant has approximately 10 years of experience in software engineering development and management. He is currently responsible for all Web Services-related technologies at The SCO Group including the SCOx Web Services Substrate (WSS). Bruce has acted as chief architect for the WSS product suite, as well as managing the team of software engineers that created it.

The WSS enables legacy applications to be "wrapped" as a set of Web Services, without requiring any modification to the legacy application. Also, the WSS enables nearly any SQL database to be wrapped into a set of one or more Web Services. Then, these Web Services can be used to create rich, graphical browser-based applications using another product within the WSS.

Prior to SCO, Bruce was a founding member and CTO of Vultus Inc., where he pioneered the development of an innovative framework for the creation of Web Services-enabled web applications. He has been a force for the adoption of open solutions and web standards, embracing technologies including Java, XML and SOAP. Bruce remains a strong advocate of agile software development methodologies, implementing them successfully since 2000.

SCOx's product offerings are designed to drive the creation of new UNIX-based products, by providing a unique framework for the development and delivery of Web Services enabled applications.
